(Drive) axles are designed to last the entire life of the car. However, in practice it appears that in poor condition drive shaft covers are not always replaced preventively. Replacing the axle cover on time prevents a lot of (financial) misery and keeps the customer happy. The drive shafts and homokines will only function properly if they remain free of dirt, oil and moisture.
